Dear Dr. Wright,

 

 I competed against Dartmouth in swimming in the mid-70s, and coached

 against them from 1982-2001 while coaching at the United States Military

 Academy.

 

 I felt compelled to just add a note letting you know my disappointment in

 the decision to drop the men's and women's swimming program. The reasons

 for my disappointment have been eloquently expressed by so many others who

 have contacted you.

 

 I know you and your staff are faced with making tough decisions, but I

 would ask you to please consider the proposals from those you are looking

 for solutions.

 

 The one thing we hope colleges do is teach students to "think outside the

 box" when looking for answers. I would encourage you to do the same in

 this situation.
