It is with great regret that I read of your decision concerning
Dartmouth Swimming.  I have been researching the reasoning and
precedents and still do not understand the decision.  I hope to engage
you in a discussion of this decision.

The sums involved do not seem to justify the decision.  Unless things
have changed dramatically since I swam, I do not think those numbers
capture the level of community involvement that the swimming program is
engaged in.

I loved swimming at Dartmouth, but love Dartmouth more.  I certainly can
be convinced of the necessity and intelligence of the decision to
eliminate swimming and would like your help in seeing your reasons.

As I research this decision and options available with interested members
of the Dartmouth community, I ask that you refer me to the appropriate
resources of budget information.  I wish to look further into the
savings that result from this process relative to other spending.
