I formerly coached in the Ivy League, at Harvard. I remember our home and
home dual meets against Dartmouth. It is hard to believe that any school in
that league would drop a sport especially one with the esteem of swimming. I
once attended the Division I NCAA championships in your pool during Carl
Michael's tenure.
Please give it further consideration.
As a retired swimming coach from Alabama and Associate Athletic Director I
understand the budget problems. However if you look at the results of your
Swimming Alumni and the positions they have attained in life I think you will
agree no sport has a higher rate of success.
Many times I have had representatives of various companies in my office
asking what seniors we had on the swimming team so they could interview them
because of the past hires and their work ethic and drive.
Surely there is another way by reaching your alumni for additional help.
Sincerely,
Don Gambril
