The leaders of the Dartmouth Student Assembly and representatives of the Swimming and Diving Teams have been granted an audience on 1/9/03 with members of the Dartmouth Administration who have the responsibility to reinstate the teams.  Groups representing both current and past Dartmouth students, the Student Assembly and the Alumni Council respectively, have each independently passed resolutions calling for this reinstatement to be a reality. 
 
At the 1/9/03 meeting, the students are to present a proposal as to how to keep the Swimming and Diving Programs at Dartmouth intact.  Central to the proposal is the certainty of already having raised $212,000 to sustain the teams throughout the 2003-04 school year and an assurance that a multi-million dollar endowment will presently be in place.  This endowment money is to come from outside of the "normal" giving to The Dartmouth College.
